Craig Shapiro, MD, a Nebraska native, received his undergraduate degree and medical degree from the University of Nebraska. He graduated from medical school with honors and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor fraternity. He is a second generation physician and Nebraska graduate.  He moved to Virginia to pursue his Internal Medicine training at Medical college of Virginia.  Dr. Shapiro continued his post graduate education in Pulmonary and Critical care at the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Dr. Shapiro then studied under Dr. Pagel, a highly recognized Sleep Specialist and became a Board Certified Sleep Specialist

Dr. Shapiro is Board Certified in Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep, and Internal Medicine. He has over 20 years of experience in these fields. He is seeing patients with: COPD, sleep, lung cancers, interstitial lung diseases, and patients with cough and shortness of breath.

Dr. Shapiro performs all the customary pulmonary procedures including bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound and thoracentesis. He also interprets sleep studies and treats patients with sleep disorders.

Dr. Joshiah GordonDr Joshiah Gordon DO, MSc joined PPA in 2011.  He is Colorado native.  He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Colorado State University in Fort Collins earning a degree in Exercise and Sports Science and a Master Degree in Anatomy.  He completed is internal medicine residency at the University of Louisville and his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at the University of Cincinnati.

Currently Dr Gordon treats patient with all general pulmonary complaints from shortness of breath to cancer.  He has a special interest in pulmonary hypertension and interventional pulmonary techniques, such as navigation bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound.  He helped start the current Pulmonary Hypertension and right heart failure clinic.  He has additional interest in critical care ultrasound and rare lung diseases.

Dr. Gordon holds and resides on many committees and directorships.  He is currently the Program Director of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at Parkview Medical Center

Kati Foechterle, DNP, AGACNP-BC, FNP-BC joined Pueblo Pulmonary Associates in 2014. She is a Colorado native, born and raised in Pueblo. She completed her undergraduate degree in Nursing and then went on to earn a  In 2020, she was among the first two students to graduate from Colorado State University-Pueblo with her Doctoral degree in nursing practice.  She was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in 2011.  She is board certified through American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Marcel Junqueira, M.D. attended medical school in Brazil, his native country. He earned his medical degree at Valenca Medical School in Rio de Janeiro. Afterwards, he relocated to New York City for his residency in Internal Medicine. He continued his post graduate training at Kansas University, where he specialized in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and at Temple University, where he finished Sleep Medicine fellowship training.

Dr. Junqueira is ABIM Board Certified in 4 different specialties, including Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine. His special interests include Sleep Medicine, Respiratory Physiology, Interstitial Lung Disease, Lung Cancer, and diagnostic work-up for lung nodules.
